A ready-made sauce prepared by slow boiling tomato pulp, extra virgin olive oil from the Aprutino Pescarese area, chili pepper, garlic, onion and salt, it is a classic Roman and Lazio cuisine with a spicy flavor. It goes well with one of the world's best-known short pasta formats, Penne rigate, in "traditional durum wheat semolina" or "whole wheat" Rustichella d'Abruzzo versions.
