The Rustichella d'Abruzzo Pantry was born out of a desire to respect the seasonality of produce with the goal of always ensuring the availability of vegetables and greens not available in certain months of the year. In the past, the pantry was a symbol of a family's wealth and solidity. Italy, in fact, is a country that has often seen food shortages, and having a rich pantry meant guaranteeing a more or less decent life. Nowadays, when we talk about the pantry, we often refer to the summer period and the family's preparation of tomato puree for the winter. A testimony this, of how Italians still preserve and much the traditions learned from parents and grandparents, who see in the recovery of crops, a symbol of great respect for nature and the seasons.
